If you’re looking to add some beachy boho and California cool to your home, we’ve got the inside dope from five Bay Area designers on where they shop for furniture and accessories that capture that sense of NorCal style. Some prefer small, eclectic boutiques, some opt for trade-only marts and one takes a down-to-earth, budget-conscious approach. Here are their recommendations.

General Store

This shop, another favorite of Lonny Magazine, carries a wide assortment of unique, free-form and stylish ceramic pieces, kitchen linens, wall hangings and books. You’ll also find clothing, jewelry and apothecary items.

This shop, a favorite of San Francisco designer Kristen Pena, has everything from Ria Leigh Silk Black terracotta pouring vessels to Ann Ladson forged bronze marrow spoons, wood and steel work tables and cast aluminum garden pots.

Super Simple

Wood and stone are the centerpieces for this shop, which carries an assortment of Bay Area style furniture, decor pieces and lamps that are essential Bay Area style items. Their mantra: form always follows function.
